AN ELDERLY driver was left badly shaken after a collision with a car which failed to stop.

The 72-year-old woman, from Waterlooville, was driving her red Ford Fiesta along Hulbert Road and was at the roundabout for Tempest Avenue and Frendstaple Road when the collision occurred.

It happened at 8.15pm on Monday and, while other motorists stopped to assist the woman, the second driver simply drove off.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the other vehicle and anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

Details of the other vehicle are not known.

Sergeant Rich Bell from Waterlooville police station said: ‘The collision left the driver of the Fiesta very shocked and shaken. She made her way home where she was treated by an ambulance crew for a minor neck injury.

‘I would urge the driver of the other vehicle to get in touch with the police and I would also like to hear from those motorists that did stop to help the woman at the scene and to check on her welfare.’

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Sgt Bell by calling 101.
