THIS is the horrific scene of a car crash that killed a man from Fareham.

The driver in his 60s was involved in a head-on collision with a truck on Thursday on the A31 at Wimborne.

He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Dorset Police are still investigating the incident which involved a camper van driven by the Fareham resident and a Dorset County Council tipper truck.

Both his wife and the driver of the truck, a man in his 40s from Weymouth, were taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The A31 remained closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation.
