FOUR people were led to safety after the yacht they were travelling on ran aground.

The team were attempting to get into Haslar Marina in Portsmouth Harbour at about 7.50pm yesterday when their vessel ran into problems.

A call was put in to UK Coastguard for assistance.

A crew on exercise in the area from Portsmouth Lifeboat Station was sent to tow the yacht to shore and ensure its crew were safe.

All four people on board the yacht were unharmed.
