WORK has begun on a busy slip road, leading to night-time closures.

The southbound exit slip road of the A3 at Catherington Interchange, just before the A3(M), will be closed from 10pm to 6am until Friday for maintenance to be carried out.

The work will include resurfacing to improve the condition of the carriageway surface and repainting road markings.

Lane one of the A3 southbound will be closed leading up to and on the exit slip road.

There will be a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A3 southbound from Chalton Lane, up to the work site, and traffic will be escorted at 10mph from Snells Corner past the work site to the end of the southbound exit slip road.

The exit and entry slip roads at Snells Corner / New Farm Barn Lane will also be closed overnight during the work.

Signposted diversion routes will be put into place during these closures.
