Roads set to close to pave the way for Great South Run

A NUMBER of roads will be affected by Sunday’s Great South Run - even before the day itself.

From 6am today until 4pm on Sunday, Clarence Esplanade between South Parade and Avenue de Caen, Victoria Avenue Spur and Jack Cockerill Way will be closed to traffic.

On Saturday from 5.30am until Sunday at 4pm, Clarence Esplanade between Avenue de Caen and Clarence Pier and The Dell will close.

Long Curtain Road and the bus turning point in Clarence Esplanade will shut on Saturday from 10.20am to 11am. Western Parade between Clarence Parade and Southsea Terrace will close to traffic from 10.45am to 1pm.

And finally, Clarence Esplanade between Jack Cockerill Way and Pier Road, and Avenue de Caen will be shut from 6am until 2pm on Saturday.

Stopping on a number of other roads will be prohibited throughout the weekend.

From 9am today until 4pm on Sunday, there will be no waiting on Clarence Esplanade from the junction of South Parade to its junction with Avenue de Caen.
