THE world’s smallest luxury cruise ship was set to depart from Portsmouth today for the first time.

In a world of giants, the Hebridean Princess is very much a little sister, and with just 30 cabins it is one of the world’s most exclusive ships.

Last year, the royal family chose to holiday on the Hebridean Princess.

The Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew all stayed on board during a tour of Scotland’s Western Isles.

It was a return visit for the Queen, who also chartered the liner for a week-long cruise to celebrate her 80th birthday in 2006.

The eight-night Taste of Normandy Cruise leaves Portsmouth today, and the next cruise, the South Coast Sojourn cruise will depart on September 8.
