A MOTORCYCLIST who died in an accident near Chichester has been named by police.

Alistair Savage, 27, of Park Road, Southbourne, suffered fatal injuries when he was in collision with a Mazda car in Madgwick Lane in Westhampnett, close to the junction with Claypit Lane.

He was pronouced dead at the scene following the collision at about 9.40am on Sunday.

The road was closed for more than six hours while police conducted an investigation.

They are still appealing for any witnesses. Call Sussex police on 101.
