POLICE are looking for witnesses after a car drove into a teenage girl, ran over her foot and sped off.

The 13-year-old was crossing Bramdean Drive, Leigh Park, when the speeding vehicle drove at her at 8.45pm on Monday.

The girl was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, and was treated for a broken foot.

PC Chris Tinney said: ‘This is a very rare occurrence and it is possible that other people were near to the scene and might have seen the vehicle.

‘Anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching the description in the Botley Drive and Dunsbury Way area should also get in touch.

‘Please could anyone who knows an owner of a car similar to the description of this offending vehicle come forward with the information needed, including a registration number.’

The driver is described as black, driving a black Vauxhall Corsa style care with blacked out rear windows, a twin exhaust and black alloy wheels.
