FIREFIGHTERS were called to the scene of a three vehicle accident at a busy Portsmouth roundabout.

The emergency services were alerted to the crash on Portsbridge roundabout slip road at 8.17am.

It involved a blue Toyota rav4, a silver Mercedes avant garde 4x4, and white Mercedes sprint lorry.

Three ambulances were sent to the scene and took three patients to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, with non-life threatening injuries.

Congestion caused by the accident lead to tailbacks on the A27 going back to the Eastern Road, in Portsmouth.

Emergency services cleared the road by 9.21am.
