FAREHAM town centre is at standstill.

Heavy traffic passing through West Street coupled with temporary traffic lights outside Aldi are making the town centre almost impassable.

There are long tailbacks from Quay Street roundabout due to sheer volume of traffic coming from Gosport.

Both fire and police say that they are not aware of any incidents.

Hampshire County Council, which looks after the county’s road, have said that it is possibly due to MOD personnel leaving for the Easter weekend.

Both Sultan and Collingwood feed on to this route.
