CITY rail passengers faced minor delays yesterday morning after a tree fell on tracks in Witley, Surrey.

Passengers getting on trains in Portsmouth had to wait while the tree, which fell in the early hours, was removed from the line. Normal service resumed by 8am. A Network Rail spokeswoman said: ‘We dealt with the situation as soon as possible.’
