PORTSMOUTH rail passengers face delays of up to an hour after a train came off tracks in Wiltshire.

The hourly rail service from Portsmouth stations to Cardiff Central could be delayed for more than an hour after an out of service train at Westbury came off the line whilst attempting to change tracks.

National Rail are currently working on getting the derailed train, which is crossing another track, to the nearest depot.

It is not yet known whether passengers on the Cardiff route, which stops via Westbury, will be offered refunds or a replacement road transport service.

A spokesperson for National Rail said: ‘At the moment we’re only allowing a limited service through Westbury. Passengers are advised to regularly check their journey developments.’
