A MEETING will be held tomorrow to discuss future options for Portsmouth’s new park-and-ride.

The Southsea Association will get together at St Jude’s Church in Southsea from 7pm.

Discussions will focus on whether the multi-million pound Tipner transport service should serve Southsea and other city locations.

And guests will get to find out what the council has decided to do in relation to Palmerston Road and Osborne Road.

As previously reported in The News, Cllr Ken Ellcome, Conservative cabinet member for traffic, has decided to reopen the pedestrian zone at the south end of Palmerston Road one way to traffic from the seafront.

The move is designed to help businesses that have experienced a huge downturn in trade as a result of the precinct’s introduction in 2012.

In Osborne Road, a £700,000 improvement scheme has been approved, and new lighting, trees and widened pavements are due to be introduced.
