A TRUCK has slammed into the metal railings outside a school today.

A white Nissan pick-up truck smashed into the railings by Baycroft School, in Stubbington, just after the school’s lunch break.

The incident happened at 1.51pm, in Gosport Road, and involved just one vehicle, Hampshire police confirmed.

A spokesman for the police force added: ‘The road was partially blocked.

‘The driver got out all right and an ambulance was called to the scene.’

No-one has been arrested, the police official said.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire County Council added the crash took place while the students were having lessons in the school.

She said: ‘There was no impact on the school and there were no injuries reported.

‘It happened during school time but everyone was inside the school.’
