TWO vehicle fires caused delays on the M27 west of Fareham today.

The incident, which happened at 9.49am, was the second to cause disruption on the same stretch of the motorway this morning.

The fire between junction eight and junction nine had left the eastbound carriageway closed, with the fast lane westbound also shut.

Two cars were set alight on the central reservation between Segensworth and Bursledon.

All lanes have now re-opened.

Earlier, a 22-year-old man suffered minor injuries after the accident on the motorway’s westbound carriageway between junctions 10 and nine.

The silver Vauxhall Corsa overturned at 8.32am today.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

All lanes were reopened by 9.30am but there were continued delays for drivers heading towards Portsmouth.
