A HOT air balloon ride is up for grabs for Chichester workers who get on their bikes.

Chichester District Council has challenged businesses to get the most number of miles clocked up on bikes during the duration of the challenge.

The event takes place between May 14 and June 5.

The person who registers the highest mileage during that period will get a hot air balloon ride for two over the city.

The next prize is a Trek 7300 bicycle worth £575 and the third prize is dining vouchers at local restaurants.

Councillor John Connor, in charge of environment at the council, said: ‘Over 1,300 people took part in the past two challenges and it would be great if we could get even more people joining in this year.’

Cycling promotion officer Alister Linton-Crook said: ‘Cycling is fantastic and you can easily incorporate it into your daily lifestyle.’

The challenge is a partnership between Chichester District Council, CTC (Cyclists’ Touring Club) and Challenge for Change.
