A WOMAN has died in a crash at Funtington.

The 21-year-old, who is local to the area, died when the VW Polo saloon she was driving crashed into a parked goods vehicle on the B2146 between Funtington and East Ashling, near Chichester

Two passengers were seriously injured in the crash.

Sussex police said it happened just before 2.30pm.

A police statement said: ‘The 21-year-old local woman who was driving the car was killed and the two passengers received injuries for which they have been taken to St Richard’s Hospital at Chichester and Southampton General Hospital respectively.

‘The road is closed while emergency services attend the scene and drivers are asked to avoid the area.’
