A WOMAN from Chichester died after she was involved in a car crash on a rural road in West Sussex.

The accident happened on the A283 north of Petworth and involved a blue Audi and blue Toyota Yaris.

The 41-year-old driver of the Toyota died from her injuries.

Police have named her as Sandra Aburrow, 41, of Willowbed Avenue, Chichester.

The driver of the Audi, a 56-year-old man from Farnham, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where he is in a stable condition.

The A283 was closed between Petworth and Fisherstreet crossroads while an investigation took place into the circumstances of the crash, which took place at about 6am on Monday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses. Call 101 quoting Operation Kingsland.
