Trespasser near Havant on railway line sees power switched off

THE POWER at Havant train station was shut down for 40 minutes due to reports of a trespasser on the lines.

A spokesman at Network Rail revealed that they had taken the decision to turn off power to the lines at 4.05 pm due to reports of a person on the track. 

The spokesman said: ‘Initially we had to caution the trains to run very slowly before we were instructed by the Transport Police to stop the trains. At 4.30pm the police arrived and we believe a person has been detained.’

Network Rail have said that the power is now back on but there will be service delays due to the impact of the incident.
