Tribute paid to former University of Portsmouth lecturer found dead

A UNIVERSITY chief has paid tribute to a former colleague who was found dead.

Colin Rones’ body was found in Eastney on January 28.

The 51-year-old former University of Portsmouth lecturer had gone missing from his home in Bransbury Road the day before.

Dr Chris Markham, interim head of the School Of Health Sciences and Social Work – where Mr Rones was a senior lecturer until 2014 – has now paid tribute.

He said: ‘Colleagues are unanimous that professionally, Colin had outstanding expertise and skills.

‘On a personal level, Colin was one of those people who made you want to be a better person. He will be very deeply missed by us all.’

An inquest has been opened into his death and adjourned.
