Trio take on banger race in charity challenge

THREE men are braving a famous banger race across Europe this month for a children's charity.

Andy O’Hara, Tim Andrews and Adam Plant are competing in the annual Screwball Rally 2016 in aid of the radio station Wave 105’s charity Cash for Kids.

The three have entered as a team and are being sponsored to drive across Europe in a 20-year-old stretch limo.

More than 100 teams will take part and will travel through France, Germany and the Czech Republic, starting in Dorset. They will cover 2,000 miles, before returning to Dorset on September 26 to cross the finish line.

While the cars themselves can cost no more than £750, there are no limits to how much the teams can spend on customising their vehicles as well as ensuring it is roadworthy.

The trio hope to raise £2,000 for Cash for Kids that will be used to support disadvantaged children under the age of 18 from all over Dorset.
