FUNDRAISING stalwart Julie Scarborough will be presented with her 20th Rocky Appeal shield after raising £20,000 over the years.

Mick Lyons, co-ordinator of the appeal to provide life-saving equipment at Queen Alexandra Hospital, will present the shield at around midday on Saturday.

A shield is presented every time someone raises £1,000.

The presentation will come as Julie hosts yet another fundraising event at her bungalow in Widley.

From 10.30am to 2.30pm there will be bargains galore at her home.

Among the items for sale will be clothes, toys, jewellery, hand bags, collectables and shoes.

From 2pm to 2.30pm, everything will be reduced to half price.

Most of the items are donated to Julie.

She said: ‘I’ve got so much in my bungalow I can hardly move.

‘I have to make a pathway from the doorway to my bed!’

The charity event takes place at 9 The Crest, off The Dale, PO7 5DG.
