TWO people had to be cut from a car following a collision.

Stoke Road, in Gosport, was closed following the two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters had to take the roof off one of the cars to help two women who were trapped inside.

A spokesman from Gosport Fire Station said: ‘We were called at 1.10pm to a road traffic collision on Stoke Road.

‘We had to do a roof removal as there were two women trapped.

‘Two fire engines from Gosport went along with two fire engines from Cosham who had specialist equipment.’

Once free from the car, the women were treated by South Central Ambulance Service.

The road was re-opened shortly afterwards.
