Two thieves stole several thousands pounds worth of cigarettes from a petrol station.

The theft took place at Tesco in Clement Atlee Way, Cosham, at around 11.30pm, on Sunday, January 2.

The filling station was targeted by two people who were caught on CCTV.

The intruders forced their way into the store and helped themselves to cigarettes from behind the counter.

Police have not yet released images of the theft.

The shop's CCTV footage captured two people in hooded tops stealing cigarettes worth several thousand pounds.

They were seen driving off in a car believed to be a silver or light blue silver Ford Mondeo.
