Two years after the air raid
This is a view looking east along Hambrook Street, Southsea, in 1943.
It was two years after the bombing that flattened Long’s brewery in the lower front of the photo and very little tidying has been done.
Cecil Place is on the right and Ernest Smith’s clock tower in Castle Road is on the far right in the middle distance.
