LORRY tyres were set on fire in Portsmouth.

A pile of around five large tyres were letting off thick, acrid, smoke, in Southwick Hill Road, Cosham.

One crew from Cosham fire station were called to put the fire out at 1.40pm yesterday.

They used two breathing apparatus and two house reels.

Police closed the road for 15 minutes.
