A PART of the A27 that was closed after a two-vehicle crash reopened almost four hours later.

The incident happened at 3.30pm today, and the inner lane of the A27 eastbound, near the A259 Havant Road, was closed until 7.30pm.

One of the vehicles involved hit a lamppost and the Highways Agency needs to make the scene safe before the lane was reopened.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from Havant and one from Cosham.

A spokesman said: ‘Two vehicles went off the highway, and one car into a ditch near the BP garage on the A27.

‘One person self-rescued, one person was assisted and one person was extricated.’

Hampshire police said there are no serious injuries.
