PREPARATIONS for a major vehicle rally are well under way.

The Gosporteers’ annual event is due to be held on August 25 and will be opened by the mayor of Gosport, Councillor Keith Gill, at 11am.

Gates are open to the public from 10.30am.

All proceeds go to the mayor’s charities this year which are The Rowans Hospice and the ARC.

Activities will include a bouncy castle, Total Wipeout, playbus, laser quest and go-karts, with a funfair for the children.

Two displays by the Solent Dog Display team are planned after they were well received last year. Refreshments and ice creams will be available.

To book a stall or compete in the rally, contact Brian Russell at or by phone on (023) 9258 4371.
