TWO pensioners will be driving a 100-year-old car from Lisbon to Lincoln for charity.

The pair – Larry Riches and Richard Barrett – and their Portuguese friend Dimas Pestana will be passing through Portsmouth on May 26 on their 1,242 mile journey.

They will be travelling in a Ford Model T built in 1914 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The team are hoping to raise more than £10,000 on the challenge, which starts on May 21 in Portugal.

Mr Riches was inspired to take on the challenge for Prostate Cancer UK after he was diagnosed with cancer.

He said: ‘I’m looking forward to the challenge and I’m delighted to be raising awareness and money to help the fight against cancer.’
