Video - Offbeat: Firefighters to the rescue to help duck

Footage shows firemen lifting the cover and reaching into a sewer before scooping the gold furred baby out and placing it in a cardboard box.

The adorable little bird is then dropped back into the water where it rushes to be reunited with its mother on the River Salwarpe in Droitwich, Worcs.

A spokesman from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service said: “We were called at 12.09pm by a member of the public who had seen that the duck had fallen into the drain.

“One crew from Droitwich fire station was dispatched.

“They retrieved the baby duckling from the storm drain and then released the duckling back into the water.”
