Thousands of people have been enjoying the action the first day of the HMS Sultan Summer Show in Gosport.

The rain held off as crowds lapped up military displays, helicopter flights, fun fair rides, cicrus acts and a host of sideshows at the Royal Navy base.

The show - which continues on Sunday - is one of the biggest events in the Gosport calendar and always draws families from far and wide.

Displays in the arena included field gun crews, monster trucks and sheepdogs and the event will again raise tens of thousands of pounds for local and services charities.

See some of the action in our video, above, and see The News on Monday for a report and pictures.
