A COUPLE are opening up their garden to the public to help raise cash for the Red Cross.

As part of the medical charity’s open gardens scheme, Chris and Frankie Lane are inviting people to 50 Hill Park Road in Fareham.

Last year the scheme raised more than £5,000 across the region.

Senior community fundraiser Luanne Martin said: ‘Open Gardens is a great opportunity to see not only the large estates that aren’t often open to the public, but also to have a look around smaller gardens which can be the best to get ideas for your own.

‘Most do refreshments. All of them do tea, coffee and cakes and some of them do a plant sale. Anyone can turn up, on their own or with friends.’

The garden is open on July 9 and 10. Entry costs £1.50.
