SELFLESS people who give up their spare time to volunteer have been recognised at an award ceremony.

Mayor of Fareham Cllr Susan Bayford presented Fareham’s most committed volunteers with certificates on behalf of Fareham Volunteer Centre.

The Mayor said she was impressed by the diversity of groups and the commitment shown.

She said: ‘Volunteers are like the glue that holds the community together.’

A reception in the Collingwood Room at the civic offices followed.

The volunteers were also joined by two Hearing Dogs – Dylan and Waffle - from South Hants Branch of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
