PEOPLE are being encouraged to wear a hat to raise money and awareness of brain tumours.

Wear A Hat Day asks people to wear a hat, with money donated to Brain Tumour Research.

In Gosport, volunteers from mental health support group Give, Gain and Grow are walking from Martin Snape House to the Explosion Museum and back. There will be free refreshments.

People taking part are asked to put on a hat and donate £1 on Thursday, March 24. The walk is at 10.30am.

The money raised helps fund seven dedicated research centres, including at the University of Portsmouth.
