PEOPLE are being called upon to take part in a memorial walk and raise money for charity.

The Alzheimer’s Society is holding its annual Memory Walk, with the choice of a short 3km walk or a longer 10km walk.

Both start from Castle Field, Southsea.

People are being asked to meet on the field at 10.30am for a 11am start, this Saturday.

The money raised will help support people with dementia and their carers in the Portsmouth area.

A variety of entertainment and refreshments will be available on the day.

This year’s Memory Walk is taking place in partnership with Bupa Care Homes.

Together, the two aim to support more people living with dementia through the vital funds that are raised.

The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Councillor Frank Jonas will be at the event.

Walkers can sign up to take part by going online, or there’s a chance to register on the day before 11am.
