The pair were raising cash for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Wendy took on the charity as her mother-in-law Gwen Strange, of Lee-on-the-Solent, has the disease, which is a form of dementia.

She said: ‘It was fun – my sister and I did it.

‘We took out my niece’s little dog, he did it as well.

‘It was worthwhile. We know people who suffer from it, we like to help them as much as we can – it’s personal to us.’

The pair took around 45 minutes to walk the course.

Sandra has raised about £140 and Wendy has so far raised £227. She is doing a charity ice bucket challenge on Friday.
