TONS of donated goods have been sent out to help children through the tough African winter.

Rita McCoy has been sending boxes full of warm knitted clothes, pens, pencils and games to the Kingdom of Lesotho for the past 14 years since being inspired by an episode of Songs of Praise.

This year Havant Lions paid for the goods to be sent to rural areas of the country and Browns Hairdressers, of North Street, Havant, also gave a large donation.

Packaging company, Huhtamaki, based in Gosport, provided the boxes.

Mrs McCoy, from Havant, said: ‘I’d just like to thank all those who have helped send these vital goods to Lesotho.’
