HAVANT United Reformed Church is holding its first messy church.

Families are invited to go along to the event tomorrow at the church, in North Street, Havant.

Jan Stillwell, from the church, said: ‘Messy church is a fresh new way of experiencing church. It’s for all ages, it’s fun, it’s family friendly.

‘Everyone gets to enjoy making a craft, playing a game, learning about the God who loves us, and enjoying a meal.’

The concept of messy church began in Portsmouth in 2004.

It is free and open to families of all shapes and sizes, including grandparents, carers and single parents.

This week’s theme is around Palm Sunday and Easter with activities connected to that.

At the end everyone will share a hot meal together.

The fun starts at 4pm and will finish at 6pm. It will then run every other month.
