A BUMPER line-up of festive events has been organised for Waterlooville in the run-up to Christmas.

St George’s Church will hold a festive bazaar in the church hall from 10am on Saturday, December 3.

From the beginning of December the church clock, instead of chiming on each hour, will instead play a verse from a Christmas carol.

Schoolchildren from across Waterlooville will take part in concerts in the church at 4pm on December 5, 6 and 7.

Christmas carols will be sang at midday in the precinct on Saturday, December 17.

People from six churches and members of the Salvation Army Band will come together for the service.

Meanwhile, plans are still afoot for Christmas lights to be installed in the town centre after the business association said it could not find the cash to pay for the lights this year.

A switch-on event is being planned for December 3 between 5pm and 7pm.
