Watersport festival comes to Hayling Island

The National Watersports Festival will take place over the weekend, starting on Friday, and will include events in windsurfing, kayaking and kitesurfing.

The three-day festival is expected to attract more that 10,000 spectators to the island to enjoy races, demonstrations, taster sessions, live music and trade shows.

The event is free but organisers are advising visitors to book parking and camping in advance.

Events director, Allan Cross said: ‘The event has grown significantly over the years and is a true community festival where the sports come together under one roof.

‘Every year we bring unique and exciting concepts to the event and this year no exception.

‘We hope it will be quite a spectacle on the water.’
