We play for fun to raise money for charity
WE are a local ukulele group based in Gosport.
The founding members met at a ukulele course at the Gosport Discovery Centre in 2011 and the group has gone from strength to strength ever since.
We play for fun and have played many gigs around the local area, raising much needed funds for truly local charities.

Hide AdIn the past six years the Strummers have played more than 280 gigs and raised in excess of £17,000 for local charities.
Our nominated charity for 2017 is ICANGO in Lee-on-the-Solent. ICANGO work in partnership with St Faith’s Church and Gosport Voluntary Action to provide free community transport for local people by operating 3 minibuses.
ICANGO typically organises around 40 trips per month enabling older people and those with disabilities to get out and about.
Since January The Strummers have raised £1,000 for ICANGO by playing fun-filled concerts in the local area.

Hide AdOn Tuesday, in the Crofton Guiding Centre, Park Lane, Stubbington, about 20 or so Strummers gathered with their ukuleles to present the cheque to Adrian Groves and other representatives of ICANGO.
Adrian thanked all the Strummers and said what a fantastic achievement it has been to raise so much so quickly. He said the money would be put to good use immediately to kit out one of the community buses.
