POMPEY fans are being urged to wear a hat at the club’s clash against Swansea tomorrow in a show of support for a brain tumour charity.

The club wants supporters to wear headgear to Fratton Park and donate cash to Brain Tumour Research on the day.

In the UK more than 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year.

A spokesman from the charity said: ‘In the UK more children and people aged 40 and under die of a brain tumour than any other cancer – yet brain tumour research is woefully under-funded. We have founded our first centre of research excellence at Portsmouth University.

‘We need £1m a year in funding to maintain progress and continue our work in this vital area. Please give generously to this wonderful cause and help fund the fight to bring an end to brain tumours.’
