Wear yellow for Clare's workout

A Zumba instructor will put Islanders through their paces to raise awareness of a disease close to her heart.

Clare Gosling, pictured, will lead a fun fitness session to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and is inviting people to come along, workout, and show their support.

The event will take place during the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s Wear Yellow Day on Friday, June 23.

Clare’s event will take place at Eastoke Community Centre, in Wheatlands Avenue, from 10-11am.

Anyone can come along, take part and have some fun while supporting a good cause.

There’s no need to book - just turn up on the day and be sure to wear something yellow. All proceeds from the class will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Clare said: ‘I have a friend who has four children, two of whom have CF.

‘I have seen the stresses and worries that she goes through.

‘The thing with CF, as with a lot of invisible illnesses, is that unless it hits you first hand, you have no idea what those who deal with these conditions go through.

‘I want to make people aware of the good work the Cystic Fibrosis Trust does, and give them the opportunity to support their ongoing work.’

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic disease that causes the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, to become clogged with thick, sticky mucus.

This results in chronic infections and inflammation of the lungs.

The Portsmouth and Isle of Wight branch of the CF Trust are keen to involve as many local clubs, schools and businesses as possible in the Cystic Fibrosis Week awareness and fundraising efforts.
