GRITTERS will be out in force across Hampshire this weekend as the county prepares for more cold weather.

Hampshire County Council said the vehicles would be used on major roads.

Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 3C over the next couple of days, although it will feel several degrees colder.

The Met Office has forecast spells of sunshine on Saturday, with an cloudier outlook expected on Sunday.

On Saturday morning temperatures could fall to 3C, with a maximum of 7C expected later in the afternoon.

Forecasters have said snowy showers could be possible across parts of the UK, particularly in the north, but there could be snow in some south-western counties such as Devon.
