A yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds has been issued for Portsmouth.Â

The Met Office has warned of risks of flooding in homes and business today (November 9) as part of the warning. 

The yellow weather warning is in place from 1pm until 11.59pm.

There has also been a flood alert issued for Upper River Wey, by the Environment Agency.

What does the weather warning say? 

The Met Office issued the yellow weather warning for the Portsmouth area yesterday (November 8) and warned residents here is what to expect: 

- A few homes and businesses flooded

- Spray and flooding on roads will make journey times longer

- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport expected

- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges

- Some short term loss of power and other services

- Coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves
