Owners warned to keep animals out of the sun by the RSPCA

PET owners and farmers are being urged to keep their animals out of the heat during the warm weather,

The appeal comes after the RSPCA released statistics from its helpline revealing that it received 1,606 calls in July – two calls per hour – from people who were concerned about animals exposed to the sun.

The group has advised that animals should be taken out in the morning or evening.

It has urged owners not to leave pets in vehicles.
