A LEISURE centre that has seen more than 17 million people walk through its doors has celebrated a milestone.

Staff were jubilant as they marked the 25th anniversary of Westgate Leisure Centre, a council-run facility in Chichester.

When it opened in 1987 it had eight classes. It now has more than 100.

Kevin McCoy, manager, who has worked at the Westgate centre since it opened, said: ‘We would like to thank all our current and past users over the last 25 years and hope you continue to support your local leisure centre.’
