A TEENAGER from Bognor Regis, died after taking a late-night swim at a French ski resort.

Lucy Sallis, 19, scaled a six-foot fence with a friend to get to the swimming pool.

It is believed she became trapped beneath the swimming pool’s cover, but despite her friend trying to pull it off, she became unconscious and could not be revived.

Lucy had been working as a trainee chef in the kitchen of La Belle Aurore hotel in Alpe d’Huez in south-eastern France when the incident happened late on Tuesday night.

Tributes to her have been paid on the social networking site Twitter.

Caz Connor said: ‘Rest in beautiful peace Lucy Sallis! She was such a beautiful girl, praying for my best friend and her family right now! xxxxxx’

Another friend said: ‘Rest in perfect peace Lucy sallis, you’ll be missed princess x’

Lucy, who was educated at Chichester College, and her friend worked for the British-based company SkiBound, and are thought to have been based in separate hotels.
