This pub in Wickham Street, Portsea, is named after the Royal Navy’s aircraft carrier HMS Invincible.

Invincible entered service in 1980 but was mothballed in 2005.

The warship left Portsmouth for the last time on March 24, 2011 to be taken to Turkey to be scrapped.

amaThe pub was known before 1983 as the Old Free House.
