THIS patriotic name for the pub in Milton Road, Copnor, refers to the English Rose – the official emblem for the country.

The pub, which has a large garden, offers a range of real ale – often locally produced – and hosts two annual beer festivals, one in summer and one in the winter.

The rose is the most popular flower to be used in pub names.
